BESTeam Feature - Gmaellen

This week I am featuring Gmaellen.  A cute little shop filled with wonderful crochet items!  Hello, and thank you for visiting my little shop, which is growing every day. So, come back often to see what's new.

Ellen loves being crafty and creative and keeping busy outside of work.  She really enjoy creating things that are not only nice looking, but are functional.  She has tried and enjoyed many different types of crafts, but always stay with her old friend crochet!  Some of her fondest memories are of watching both of her grandmothers creating so many beautiful things when she was growing up. They both gave her so much inspiration.

She, like many other fiber-holics (including myself!) are fond of the expression 'So much yarn...so little time!' The possibilities are absolutely limitless!  And Ellen (and I) want to explore them all!

Here are some of the things that caught my eye while browsing through her shop....

As I have just become an aunt again to a little preemie baby boy....and another sister is about to have another baby boy....I couldn't help but notice this baby boy blanket!  As a knitter, I don't have the patience to make large projects like baby blankets...but if I was better at crochet, I hear it works up much faster and maybe my new little nephews would get a baby blanket :-)

Round Baby Blue Crochet Baby Afghan with White/confetti accents
And I love hand made washcloths and market bags....

Tutti Frutti Cotton Crochet Dishcloths, set of 2, 7 x 9"

Natural Cotton Crochet Mesh Shopping Bag

And there is still so much to see...

Handmade Crochet Powder Blue Shell Stitch Nesting Baskets, Set of 3

Glass Beads and Leaves Wine Charms, Set of Two
Crochet Lace Bookmark with Green Ribbon and Blue/Black Ribbon Rose
Such a great shop full of beautiful things!  To find out more about Ellen you can also check out her blog at http://gmaellenscraftycorner.wordpress.com/

BESTeam Feature - Release Me Creations

Another week of renovations and pet sitting craziness!!  Time flies when you are busy trying to stay out of the way of the contractor and all his noisy tools and keeping up with the many different dogs and cats and ponies (Oh my!) that I am looking after that another week has flown by.  Before I know August will be over and September will be here!

This week's BESTeam Feature shop is Release Me Creations.  A shop full of necklaces, rings, bracelets, cuffs, earrings, cuff links, tie tacks, money clips, and more all with a little bit of glamour, a little bit of funk, a tiny bit of cuteness, with a smattering of punk!

Maureen is the creator behind Release Me Creations.  She was inspired to create during a tough time in her life, when her Dad was diagnosed with Stage IV Cancer.  Her crafting was a way to channel her energies in a positive way while staying with her parents during her father's last months of life.  Crafting became a distraction from life during this difficult time as well as a release.  Creating jewelry for her has become her meditation and her peace.  She puts so much of herself into each and every piece, that it creates an incredible release for her heart, mind, and soul. Thus, the birth of Release Me Creations.

Here are just a few things that caught my eye while checking out her shop....

BESTeam Feature - Poison Garden

Oh man!!!  What a crazy week I have had....and here it is Friday morning and it just dawned on me that I didn't do my weekly feature?!?!?  We are having some renovations on our house....so I had to find my computer under a pile of stuff that we had to move so that the contractor could work....and then I had to dust off the layer of dust that just covers everything when you have work done on your house.  And if that isn't enough, August seems to be the month that everyone and their brother has gone away on vacation, which means my pet sitting business is at it's craziest?!?!  Dogs, and cats, and ponies!  Oh my!!  So needless to say, I am a little frazzled!!

Without further ado, I would like to introduce the three charmingly eccentric and impressively crafty ladies behind Poison Garden.  Suzette, the butterfly queen; Crystal, the pumpkin tender; and Melissa, the toad catcher.  Having never grown up at all, no decision was ever made between them as to whether they would like to be Victorian ladies, swashbuckling pirates, playful fairies, bloodsucking vampires, steampunk captains, or feathered Indians. As a result of this indecision, their outfits are quite colorful, resulting in endless commentary from the disapproving neighbors. The Ladies spend most of their time creating the fantastical adornments of their vivid imaginations. Using found material, vintage jewelry, ribbons, beads, feathers, bones, crystals and more to bring you original jewelry, accessories, decor and artworks.

If you love the romantic, the whimsical, the eccentric then make your way through the clowder (a population of feral cats) of cats and see whats in store!

Here are just some of things that caught my eye while browsing through their shop....

Garden Fairy Bohemian Victorian Elven Fairytale Suncatcher

Ribbon Necklace - Gears and Wings - Amelia Style

Poison Garden Black and Hematite Gothic Victorian Steampunk bib necklace

Maltese Style Cross Charm or Pendant Gothic, biker, Neo Victorian

Poison Garden Cobalt Blue rear view mirror ornament

BESTeam Feature - Baba Moon

Back in February I featured Naomi and her photography shop Moonangelnay and I just mentioned her second shop Baba Moon because as a knitter I couldn't help but admire her knitted baby hats....and now it is my pleasure to feature Baba Moon this week!

Naomi is the crafter behind Baba Moon and she is a hard working mom of two beautiful children as well as the owner of two stores on Etsy and a handmade blog!  Baba Moon is a big focus for her at the moment which is totally inspired by her kids whom have brought out the girly girl in her! It shows in all of her cute designs as she tends to focus on flowers, pet animals, amigurumi and all things bright and colorful as her muse for design ideas.  She loves to knit and crochet, obsessively collect yarns, create her own patterns of all the hats, mittens, scarves, baby pods and other tiny garments for babies and children that she has conjured up.

Here is just a few (ok...more than a few as I think they are all adorable!) that caught my eye....but there are so many to choose from you should check it out for yourself!

And I just have to say that it is totally unfair that she is a great photographer as well...cause the pictures are just adorable as well!

This one is probably my absolute favorite one....my sister just had a 30-week preemie baby who would look adorable in a little preemie bunny beanie!!

BESTeam Feature - ChickyDs on Etsy

This week my BESTeam Feature is on a 'new' shop called ChickyDs, where you will find accessories for your little fashionista!  Danielle, of Peru, Illinois, is the crafter behind ChickyDs.  And this is actually a second shop run by Danielle...her other shop is called Danizabeth, featuring retro and nostalgic photography.

Danielle recalls that as a child, her mom absolutely loved to accessorize her outfits with hair bows. Although Danielle admits she wasn't really sure she liked them at the time, she has now grown up and realizes what fashion is, she can appreciate the effort her mom gave to her outfits.

She has always loved arts and crafts.  And she knew from middle school that she was going to pursue a career involving art.  She went to school, studied Graphic Design and now is working doing just that at a local newspaper.

As much as she loves her job, she enjoys being able to create things with her hands. On a recent trip to Hobby Lobby with every intention of getting knitting supplies to learn how to knit turned into the idea of starting a new Etsy adventure....and ChickyDs was born!

I can so appreciate how a trip to a local craft store turns in to a brand new adventure....as I too have ventured to the craft store with the intentions of finding something to make for Christmas gifts one year...which turned into my soap making addiction!  Next thing I knew I had a whole closet full of soap making supplies and started my own Etsy shop selling my handmade soap!  Nevermind the trip to the craft store for knitting supplies....and a whole other closet full of knitting stuff!!

Here are just a few things that jumped out at me while browsing her shop...

Pink and Brown Butterfly, Hearts and Stripes Loopy Boutique Bow

Small Canvas Tote with Detachable Boutique Bow Accent

Adult Military Style Boutique Hat - Black with Purple and Teal Yo Yos

Cupcake Clippie 3 Pack Boutique Style Girls Accessories

Striped Boutique Bow on French Clip

BESTeam Feature - TiLT Creations

This week's BESTeam Feature is on TiLT Creations , which is run by Theresa.  Theresa is a stay-at-home mom of 2 boys, ages 16 and 6.  She sews and creates in order to keep sane and makes her family quite happy in the process.  She creates whenever possible....and with whatever she has around.  Fabric, paint, pencils, embroidery thread and even clay...they are all fair game when Theresa creates!  They may not all come out as she planned but she has fun in the process.

Theresa sounds like my kind of gal!  I, too, tend to try whatever it is that has caught my eye when it comes to crafting....knitting, crocheting, soapmaking, jewelry making, drawing, painting, sewing, playing with clay....somethings come out better than others...but I have fun doing them all :-)

Ok...while researching her shop for this feature....I just couldn't help myself....so I had to buy this...sorry, I saw it first! :-)
